Jolien Sweere recently received a Bio-X SIGF Graduate Student Fellowship!   She will use this funding to continue her research on Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms. To learn more about Jolien and the Stanford Bio-X program click here.

It is not all work at the Bollyky lab…  We had a great Friday out at Bel Mateo Bowling.   And who would have guessed that the best bowler would be Omar?  He killed it with the high score of *181*!  

The Bollyky and Butte labs enjoyed the second annual Lake Tahoe lab retreat.   We stayed up late, lounged by the Lake, went sledding and hiking.  Here are some of the photo highlights:

Nadine Nagy and Heather Ishak attended the FOCiS Advanced Course in Basic and Clinical Immunology in Scottsdale, Arizona.  It was a great way to learn from some of the ‘stars’ in Immunology like Jane Buckner, Abul Abbas, and Shiv Pillai.

The annual Immunology Retreat in Asilomar this year was a blast.  It was filled with great talks, parties, and activities. This year one of our own, Hedwich Kuipers, won the women’s arm-wrestling competition for the second year running.  Congrats Hedwich!
